The Burleigh Beach Blast

Join us for a fun and fast race along the world famous Burleigh Beach.
Whether you want to clock your best time on this iconic 4km (return) stretch of sun-kissed sand, or just want soak up the good vibes and salty air, this event has it all - while also supporting our local community and the wildlife we share it with.

Let's get outside, move our bodies and raise some much-needed funds for the wonderful Currumbin Wildlife Hospital. All proceeds from the Burleigh Beach Blast aid their work towards caring and rehabilitating our local wildlife!

Shoes and shirts optional.

Event details

Burleigh Heads Beach

Distance :

4 km: From the Pavillion end of the beach to the North Burleigh rock and back (turn at the rock).

Where :

Races start on the beach in front of the Burleigh (Mowbray Park) SLSC.

Race bib collection :

Friday June 13th 4:30pm till 6:30pm at Mowbray Park.
Saturday June 14th 6am – 7am at Mowbray Park.

Start Time :

7 am Open 4km Blast.
7:50 am Kids 2km Blast.

  • Price : $40 with proceeds going to The Currumbin Wildlife Hospital

  • Friday June 13th 4:30pm – 6:30pm Mowbray Park, Burleigh.
  • Saturday June 14th – 6:00 AM until 7:45 AM (KIDS)
  • Saturday June 14th – 6:00 AM until 6:55 AM (OPEN)

Race times

  • Saturday June 14th - 7 AM OPEN 4 KM.
  • Saturday June 14th – 8:20 AM PLACEGETTERS PRESENTATION AND RANDOM PRIZE DRAW.
  • Saturday June 14th – 7:50 AM KIDS 2KM. 

Prizes and Placegetters

  • First Prize (male and female) : $300 cash + $200 shoe voucher at tarkine.com.
  • Second Prize (male and female) :$150 cash + $200 voucher for anything at tarkine.com
  • Third prize (male and female) : $100 voucher for anything at tarkine.com
  • Top 10 places also recieve a 50% voucher for shoes at tarkine.com.
  • First Prize (boy and girl): $50 cash and a family pass to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary.
  • Second Prize (boy and girl): Family pass to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary.
  • Third Prize (boy and girl): two tickets to Bounce Burleigh Heads for you and a friend!

Thanks to our INCREDIBLE local sponsors, there will also be a large random prize draw for ALL entrants of the Burleigh Beach Blast.

Prizes will be randomly drawn at the presentation at 8:20 AM at the event precinct (Mowbray Park, Burleigh Heads).

Event parking

If you can’t access the beach by bus, or foot, or bike, there is ample parking around Burleigh beach. Please keep in mind that most of this parking is ticketed after 9am, particularly if you hang around for a coffee, or the amazing Saturday Market (yes please!)
